A custom home in Kelowna's Lower Mission, one of the most established neighbourhoods in the city, where Amend handled the interior finishing end to end: kitchen, cabinetry throughout, bathrooms, living spaces, trim, doors, and stairs.
On a project of this type the millwork and finish carpentry are the whole point. Every cabinet, closet, and built-in was drawn, milled, and installed for this specific house, and every trim profile was scaled to the ceiling heights in the room it sits in.

What to look for in this work
A single millwork language
Kitchen, bathrooms, closets, and living-room built-ins were drawn together rather than specified room by room. Door profiles, finishes, and hardware repeat throughout, which is what makes a house of this size feel designed rather than assembled.
Stairs as the centrepiece
The staircase combines BC code limits on rise, run, and guard height with the most visible joinery in the house. Treads are consistent within millimetres, because a stair that varies is felt underfoot immediately even when nobody can say why.
Trim scaled to the ceilings
Rooms with higher ceilings carry deeper baseboards and heavier crown profiles. Using one trim size throughout a house with varying ceiling heights is the most common way a large home ends up looking undersized in its main rooms.
Coped joints throughout
Inside corners on base and crown are coped rather than mitred and caulked, so joints stay closed as the house moves through Okanagan humidity swings. On a home this size that is a substantial amount of additional hand work, and it is visible five years later.
